Damascus, Sept 8, IRNA – Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri and Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi in a phone conversation on Sunday discussed issues of mutual interest and economic cooperation in particular.
The Syrian prime minister appreciated Iranian all-out support for Syria, particularly in economic and political areas, saying, Syrian nation and government will leave behind the current crisis thanks to support from friendly countries, mainly the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Al-Halqi expressed hoped that Syria will soon celebrate final victory.
The Iranian vice-president, for his part, reiterated that Iran will continue with its support for Syria and the resistance movement to Israeli occupation.
Jahangiri said that Iranian government is readiness to further promote bilateral ties.
In the meantime, the two officials discussed ways to remove obstacles on the way of economic cooperation between Tehran and Damascus.
