TEHRAN (FNA)- South Pars gas field’s phase 16 platform will be loaded from Bandar Abbas Yard in November to be installed in its proper location in the Persian Gulf.
Manager of construction of the platform at Iran Ship Building and Offshore Industries Complex Co. (ISOICO) Shahriar Afsharpanah said construction of the 2.800 ton platform has made progress by 92 percent and will increase gas production capacity of the country by 1 bcf/d after installation in phase 16.
During his late last month visit to Assaluyeh, onshore installations of South Pars gas field, Iranian minister of petroleum Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said all the efforts in South Pars gas field should be concentrated on certain phases which are nearing completion, which include phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18. Early development of the phases will be followed by rising natural gas and gas condensate production respectively by 200 million cubic meters and 300 thousand barrels each day.
South pars gas field, as the largest gas field in the world, is located in Persian Gulf and is shared by Iran and Qatar.
