TEHRAN, Sep. 24 (MNA) – Head of Egypt’s Interest Section in Tehran, Khaled Amareh, has expressed hope that the relationship between Tehran and Cairo would improve, noting that it is important for the entire region.
“The relationship between Iran and Egypt is important to the entire region, and there is a consensus among all national Egyptian groups about the significance of this relationship. Naturally, Egypt is now in transition and it is natural that it is difficult to take important and strategic decisions in this period, but officials of the two countries are keen to improve relations,” Amareh told the Mehr News Agency in an interview published on Monday.
“We hope that the remarks of Iran’s new president (Hassan Rouhani) after the election about the establishment of good relations (with Egypt) based on cooperation… and non-intervention become a reality,” he added.
