TEHRAN (FNA)- Managing director of the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Abdolreza Hosseinnejad said the West Karoun Oil Fields Region plays a crucial role in the oil industry development in Iran's fifth five year development plan.
Hosseinnejad said West Karoun Oil Fields Region is responsible for bulk of boosting oil production capacity over the fifth five year development plan to 2015.
"The Oil Ministry plans to boost oil production capacity and PEDEC will use all its potentials for realization of the target, especially from oil fields located in West Karoun Region," he said.
Executive structures play an important role in this regard and that is why revamping oil contracts is necessary, a topic Petroleum Ministry has put high on the agenda.
Stressing on the importance of the role employers play in advancement of the projects, he said a powerful outsourcer can manage the contractor while a weak outsourcer will cripple a powerful contractor.
"It is necessary we pay enough attention to issues like choosing contractors and by improving management to direct plans and projects toward realization of intended targets," Hosseinnejad concluded.
