Monuments erected in MKO's camp Ashraf in memory of Al-Qaeda terrorists

TEHRAN (FNA)- Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as the MEK, NCRI and PMOI) has erected monuments and statutes in its main training camp in memory of the Al-Qaeda terrorists who have been killed after the fall of Saddam in Iraq, sources in Iraq's Diyala province revealed on Saturday.

“After Saddam’s downfall, leaders of this terrorist group had held meetings with some Iraqi Sheiks and those who have been affected by the fall of Saddam in one way or another,” Head of the Diyala Province’s Foundation of Martyrs Mohammed Saleh al-Shammari told the Habilian Association – a human rights NGO representing the families of 17,000 Iranian terror victims.

He said these sheikhs later disclosed that they had seen monuments in Camp Ashraf built in the memory of the al-Qaeda terrorists who had been executed by the Iraqi government, when they entered the military headquarters of the terrorist group three years ago.

Underlining the terrorist nature of the MKO, Al-Shammari stated that MKO members assassinated Iraqi people before and after the fall of Ba’ath regime.

Diyala province, where MKO's most notorious camp in the world is located, was the first province in which terrorist and suicide attacks took place and the terrorist operations which subsequently occurred in Iraq were like the methods of MKO.

Earlier in January, Head of the Security Committee of Diyala province Meysam al-Tamimi said a number of al-Qaeda operatives have been trained in Camp Ashraf, the MKO's main training camp in Iraq's Diyala province, to carry out terrorist attacks against the Iraqi people.

He added that a large amount of money and weapons were also funneled through Camp Ashraf to al-Qaeda and Salafist extremist groups to help them target Iraqis in acts of terror.
