Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani says cooperation between the Islamic Republic and China can play a significant role in bolstering security and peace in Asia.
Addressing a gathering of Chinese investors and businessmen in the Chinese capital of Beijing on Wednesday, Larijani praised the amicable relations between Iran and China.
Iran and China have a lot of common ground on political and security issues as well as for the expansion of bilateral trade and investment, said Larijani.
The Iranian Majlis speaker said Tehran and Beijing should tap into their huge potential for investment, adding that the new Iranian administration would pave the ground for the exploitation of the existing potentialities, especially in the fields of economy and trade.
He also expressed Majlis’ readiness to also help facilitate investment by potential Chinese investors in the Islamic Republic.
Larijani arrived in Beijing on Tuesday on a four-day official visit to discuss the promotion of parliamentary, political, economic and cultural ties between Iran and China during his meetings with high-ranking Chinese authorities, including President Xi Jinping.
The visit is taking place at the invitation of Zhang Dejiang, the chairman of China’s Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), which is the country’s top legislature.
