Indonesia planned to promote ties with Iran, diplomat

Tehran, Nov 19, IRNA – Indonesian Ambassador to Iran Dian Wirengjurit referred to new opportunities created after inauguration of the new Iranian government, stressing Jakarta is interested in expansion of ties with Tehran.
In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Wirengjurit said the visit to Tehran of the Indonesian House Speaker Marzuki Alie today will indicate that Jakarta is willing to promote cooperation with Tehran.


Indonesia does not want to lose the chance of fostering trade cooperation with Iran, said the diplomat.

Referring to Iran’s positive approach towards global interactions, he described the prospect of bilateral economic ties as bright.

As to anti-Iran sanctions, the Indonesian diplomat called for removing such restrictions.

Referring to Iran?s peaceful nuclear activities, he reiterated that world nations are interested in resolving such a major international issue. Settlement of the issue would benefit the whole globe, the envoy stated.
