Tehran, Dec 11, IRNA – Visiting Hungarian Deputy Foreign Minister Szabolcs Takács said here on Wednesday that Budapest wants enhanced ties with Tehran in all areas.
In a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs, Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, he referred to abundant cultural and historical commonalities between Iran and Hungary as a base for expansion of bilateral relations.
The Hungarian official further said that the ground is prepared for activity of state and private sectors of both countries in the other country.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister, for his part, referred to the new Iranian government’s determination to enhance ties with other countries, saying Iran attaches special significance to promotion of relations with Hungary as its traditional friend in East Europe.
Takht-e Ravanchi called for enhanced ties with Budapest in different fields, such as sciences, culture, economy, trade, sports and tourism.
He urged the Hungarian government to help remove problems of a large number of Iranian students in the country.
The two officials also discussed the humanitarian crisis in Syria and called for a political solution to the issue.
