Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA – Head of Iran-Iraq Parliamentary Friendship Group Nasser Soudani said that Takfiris? attack on Iranian and Iraqi workers was to damage Tehran-Baghdad ties as they are unhappy with amicable relations between the two nations.
On December 13, Takfiri terrorists gunned down 17 Iranian and Iraqi workers working on a pipeline project near the village of Balad Ruz, situated 90 kilometers (55 miles) northeast of Baghdad in Diyla province. Several people were also injured in the attack.
According to reports, 15 Iranian nationals were killed and seven injured in the attack.
Speaking to IRNA, the MP referred to Takfiri terrorists as the ?arms of Zionism in the region that carry out operations against Muslims.?
The MP added that Takfiris? terrorist acts are aimed at strengthening the Zionist international hegemony by targeting solidarity of Muslims.
He stressed that Zionists are angry with promotion of Iran-Iraq economic and political relations.
