Tehran, Dec 19, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks Thursday with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu on important international and regional developments, including the Syrian crisis.
The two foreign ministers discussed the latest developments in the region as well as issues of mutual interest.
The talks were held after the opening ceremony of the 16th ministerial meeting of the Developing Eight Countries known as D-8 being in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Zarif left Tehran for Islamabad early on Thursday to take part in the D-8 meeting.
The Developing 8 Countries established in 1997 is an ultra-regional organization consisting of Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Egypt, Indonesia and Malaysia.
The foreign ministers of the member states hold a meeting every year.
The D-8 is aimed at developing cooperation among the member states.
