Tehran, Dec 25, IRNA – Member of Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Ahmad Shouhani said any meetings on Syria will bear no positive results without Iran’s presence.
Talking to IRNA, he commented on the US opposition to Iran’s participation in the Geneva II conference on Syria.
He reiterated that it is too clear that any decision to be taken by the meeting will have no effective impact on the regional developments.
Referring to the recent developments in the Iranian foreign policy, the MP said the agreement reached between Iran and the West indicates its high potential in settling international disputes.
He believed that the decision not to invite Iran in fact means the US is not truly determined to resolve the Syrian crisis.
The parliamentarian further stressed that by preventing US war mongering policies in Syria, Iran in fact protected the national interests of regional nations.
