TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army staged a massive raid on foreign-backed militants in Aleppo and inflicted heavy losses on them.
Army units killed and injured a large number of militants who attempted to attack residents of Salah-Eddin neighborhood, as they also destroyed militants' gatherings and dens in several areas of Aleppo Province, Syrian Arab News Agency reported.
A military source said that army units destroyed militants' dens with all weapons and ammunition inside in the villages and towns of Mayer, Hreitan, Handarat, al-Wdeihi, Azzan, Maaret al-Arteeq, al-Meselmiyeh and Khan al-Asal.
The source pointed out that dozens of militants were either killed or injured during military operations against militant groups' hideouts in the surrounding area of the Central Prison and Kafarnaha, in addition to destroying cars loaded with weapons and ammunition on Atareb road and in Arom al-Kubra, Arom al-Soughra, al-Zyarat villages and to the South of Andan area.
In the city of Aleppo, an army unit clashed with a militant group that attempted to infiltrate into al-Hashkal in Salah-Eddin neighborhood, killing many of its members and injuring others.
In the meantime, tens of militants were killed and many others were wounded in Bustan al-Qaser, al-Ansari, Karem Myassar, al-Jazmati, al-Sheikh Najjar and al-Sheikh Zyad, in addition to destroying their weapons.
