Iranian directors serving at Dhaka Filmfest jury panels

Two Iranian directors Rasoul Sadr-Ameli and Zohreh Zamani are serving at the jury panels of different categories at the13th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.
Sadr-Ameli has been invited to judge at the Competition Australasian Film Section along with South Korean actor Kim Ji-Seok, German filmmaker Henrik Peschel, and Bangladeshi producer Amitabh Reza Chowdhury.

Zamani has also been selected to preside over the jury of the Short and Independent Films Section which is composed of Norwegian filmmaker Gyda V. Myklebust , Dutch filmmaker Clementine Ederveen, Australian actress Robyn Hughan and Bangladeshi producer Esha Yousuf.

Iranian filmmaker Majid Barzegar’s comedy drama Parviz and Hadi Moqaddamdoust’s The Sealed Secret took part in the festival.

Barzegar’s feature length movie is to represent the country’s cinema at the competition section of the event.

Centered on family relationships, the film depicts the story of a man at his fifties, Parviz, who has spent life in his father’s home and has never had a job. His quiet routine suddenly comes apart when his father decides to remarry and tells him to move out.

The Sealed Secret chronicles around a lonely woman and her problems in making relations and communication.

The 13th Dhaka International Film Festival kicked off on January 10 and will run until January 18, 2014. The general theme of the festival is "Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society."
