TEHRAN -- The Iran Cinema Organization (ICO) announced on Monday that the organization has named January 29 Greetings to Cinema Day, during which Iranian movie theaters must offer free admission to filmgoers.
“It a cultural gift that the organization is offering to mark the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution,” a member of the ICO Managers’ Council Habib Ilbeigi told the Persian service of IRNA on Monday.

He previously said that Iranians could watch their favorite movies in theaters free of charge on September 12, which is Iran’s National Day of Cinema.

A committee including members of cinema owners, the Iranian House of Cinema and several ICO managers has been established to follow up on the issue.
