TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian national football team's final friendly match in Iran before travelling to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held on May 1, 2014.
Iran is scheduled to play two frienlies against Kuwait and Guinea before its camp in South Africa.
The team would also play four warm-up matches during its camp in South Africa. The opponents for the training camp have not been finalized but IFF officials revealed that the Iranian football team will likely play South Africa, Ivory Coast and Congo.
After the camp, Iran will also base its pre-tournament training camp in Austria, where the Asian powerhouse is scheduled to play Belarus and Montenegro.
The final game before heading to Brazil will take place in Tehran on May 1. In Iran holds training camp in South Africa, the team will certainly play Angola in Tehran.
Carlos Queiroz’s men will face Trinidad and Tobago in its final preparation for the 2014 World Cup. The match will be played on June 8 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
Iran has been drawn in Group F of the 2014 World Cup along with giant Argentina, Nigeria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On Wednesday, Carlos Queiroz met head of Iran’s Football Federation, Ali Kaffashian, and talked about his future plans after he reached an initial agreement with IFF.
