TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's President Hassan Rouhani and Burundi’s new Ambassador to Tehran Omar Nazrin, in a meeting on Monday, voiced readiness for expansion of all-out relations between Tehran and Bujumbura.
Speaking at the meeting, President Rouhani underscored that Tehran is determined to expand relations with the African countries, including Burundi.
He further added that Tehran is ready to help the African country with educational, health and agricultural training programs.
“We consider Iran as a friend; so we will try to expand our brotherly relations and cooperation,” Nazrin underlined for his part.
Tehran has also prioritized promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states and the country is now considered as one of the African Union (AU) strategic partners.
Tehran's efforts to boost ties and cooperation with Africa have led to its acceptance as an observing member of the AU, where it has shown an active presence in the AU summit meetings.
