Tehran, Feb 26, IRNA – Palestinian embassy in Tehran on Wednesday dismissed remarks attributed to a member of central committee of Fatah Movement saying Head of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas has set pre-conditions for a visit to Tehran.
In a statement faxed to media, the Palestinian embassy reacted to some Iranian newspapers quoting Jibril Al-Rajoub, a senior Fatah leader that Abbas had set pre-conditions for his visit to Tehran.
In al-Rajoub’s remarks there was no sign of a shift from his previous stands, the statement said, terming the remarks attributed to him as ‘incorrect’.
It hailed Iran’s support for the Palestinian nation and said Iran has always been the main supporter of UN resolutions calling for formation of an independent Palestinian state with Beit ol-Moqaddas as its capital.
The Palestinian government has never asked Iran to recognize the Zionist regime and will never do so in the future, the statement said.
