Israeli forces have shot and killed a Palestinian man at the border crossing between the occupied West Bank and Jordan, reports say.
The incident took place at the Allenby Bridge on Monday.
Israeli authorities initially said that the Palestinian man was injured, but a military spokeswoman later confirmed that he died of his injuries shortly after being shot.
Palestinian security officials identified the man as Raed Zeiter, 38, from the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
Israeli authorities claimed that the man was shot after crossing the bridge and attacking an Israeli soldier.
Last month, Israeli forces shot dead a 26-year-old Palestinian man and injured another in the besieged Gaza Strip.
On February 28, Israeli forces attacked thousands of Palestinians mourning the death of a man killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank town of Birzeit. Five people were injured in the attack.
The West Bank has been under Israeli military occupation since 1967. There are hundreds of checkpoints in the West Bank that have made life difficult for Palestinians.
