EP anti-Iran resolution violates int?l laws: MP

5 Apr 2014 - 17:33

Tehran, April 5, IRNA – European Parliament?s (EP) anti-Iran resolution violates international laws and regulations, Avaz Heydarpour, a member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said on Saturday.
In an interview with IRNA, he said ?EP resolution is a clear violation of international laws and regulations and and an instance of unlawful interference in Iran?s internal affairs.?

The senior MP noted that the resolution indicated the Zionist lobby?s influence on EP.

EP passed a resolution on April 7 that expressed concern about the alleged violation of human rights in Iran.

It claimed that Iran’s presidential election in June 2013, which led to the victory of Hassan Rouhani, was “not held according to the EU democratic standards.”

Iran has dismissed the resolution as unrealistic and counterproductive at a time when the Islamic Republic and the EU have taken initial steps to normalize their relations.
