Los Angeles filmfest to screen iranian drama

Iranian drama Objects in Mirror Are Closer than They Appear by female director Narges Abyar has been selected to vie at the 30th Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
Abyar’s family drama will be presented at the International Showcase of the event.

The film was also selected to contend for awards at the 2014 Middle East Now International Film Festival in Italy that will be held in the next few days.

Abyar’s film was also screened at several international festivals such as the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) in China.

The 2014 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival will be held from May 1 to 11.

Abyar’s latest creation The Groove 143 has been also invited to the 2014 Los Angeles International Film Festival.

The movie premiered at the 32nd Fajr International film festival and garnered rave reviews by critics and audience.

The Groove 143 is a screen adaptation of Abyar’s novel titled The Third Eye that narrates a story of a woman during Iran’s sacred defense.

Born in Tehran, Narges Abyar studied  Persian Literature and received her B.A. in this field.

She has penned some 30 story and fiction books for children, young adults and adults. She has also made several short and feature-length documentaries and one fiction.
