TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Hamed Solhipour of Iran on Wednesday claimed the silver medal on day four of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Powerlifting World Championships in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.



Jordan’s Mutaz Zakaria Al Juneidi won the gold medal with a lift of 229kg.

Solhipour seized the silver medal with 225kg and bronze medal went to Mexican Jose de Jesus Castillo, who lifted 220kg overhead.

The 2014 IPC Powerlifting World Championships, which runs from April 5 to 11 in the UAE, has brought over 330 athletes from nearly 60 countries together.
