TEHRAN, May 10 (MNA) – ‘Count to One,’ a puppet show directed by Zahra Sabri based on Omar Khayyam’s quartets will be performed in Germany.
Zahra Sabri told Mehr News that the puppet show would be on stage in International Puppet Theatre Festival in Bochum 2014 (FIBNA) in Germany.
“It is performed by the theatrical group Yas-e-Tamam (Persian for ‘Full-blown Jasmine’). The group has been invited by the festival to stage ‘Count to One,’” she added.
“The festival is one of the most important events in puppet show and had been held for over half a century,” she said, “it has hosted more than 1000 theatrical works from 45 countries around the world.”
She also commented on the vision of the festival. “The festival of FIBNA is held with the objective of connecting musical theatre with motion, figure, and form; a combination of dramatic and visual arts,” Sabri said, which would be held May 16-24 2014.
She also said that the group’s sponsor is the festival itself. “It has paid all expenses such as round tickets, visa applications, and residence; moreover, they will also prepare the décor of the theatre,” she added.
Sabri said that the group would stage the ‘Count to One’ in May 18 and that they would prepare for 3 days in Iran for the performance.
“Mehdi Shahpiri, Reza Bahrami, and Hossein Divandari as puppeteers; Behrang Abbaspour, the musician; Fatemeh Abbasi, assistant director, and Ebrahim Khalil Habibi the head of public relations of the group will be among the crew to Bochum,” she said.
‘Count to One’ is a puppet show with stuffed clay puppets which narrates the stories of Omar Khayyam’s quartets.
