Tehran, June 1, IRNA – The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking delegation Sunday afternoon for a two-day visit.
Upon his arrival in Tehran?s Mehrabad International Airport, the Kuwaiti Emir was accorded warm welcome by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
The visit to Tehran which is taking place at an official invitation by President Hassan Rouhani, is the first by Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah since he assumed power as the Emir of Kuwait in 2006.
A number of Kuwaiti cabinet ministers are accompanying the Emir.
During his stay in Tehran, the Kuwaiti Emir is scheduled to hold talks with top-ranking Iranian officials on issues of mutual interest as well as the latest regional developments.
President Rouhani is due to officially welcome the leader of Kuwait in Saadabad cultural-historical complex.
