Iranian newspapers today covered the message of condolences by the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei over the deadly mine explosion in northeastern Iran.
The top story, however, was the second presidential debate between the six candidates, which was held on Friday afternoon in a less tense atmosphere compared with the previous debate.
Reformist and pro-government papers praised Rouhani’s stronger presence in the second debate, and a number of conservative media referred to the apparent coalition between the three conservative candidates Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Ebrahim Raisi, and Mostafa Mirsalim.
