Tehran, Jan 7, IRNA Spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry Marziyeh Afkham on Wednesday called on scholars and scientists of the Islamic world to seek ways to ideologically struggle against sectarianism and extremism.
Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the 28th International Conference on the Islamic Unity which opened here this morning, Afkham stressed the need for making a practical move to boost unity among Muslim nations.
She noted that a large number of Muslim countries' potentials have been concentrated on major problems facing the Islamic world such as terrorism and sectarianism.
Afkham referred to the ongoing Islamic unity conference as a chance which makes it possible to make practical decisions for resolving problems of the Islamic world.
She said one of the major goals of the Takfiri and terrorist groups is to sow discord among Muslims and spread sectarianism in the Islamic world.
