Tehran, July 13, IRNA Algerian Ambassador to Tehran Abdelmoun'aam Ahriz conferred on Monday with Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati on expansion of cultural and arts cooperation between the two countries.

The Iranian minister congratulated the independence anniversary of Algeria and said the Islamic Republic of Iran and Algeria have deeply-rooted and friendly relations.

The struggle of Algerian people with French colonialism for the country's independence remains in the heart of people forever, he said.

Setting up cultural weeks helps the two nations get more acquainted with the cultural identity and tradition of one another, Jannati said.

Active presence in international book fairs and exchange of cultural delegations along with expansion of cinematic cooperation would help expansion of cultural affinity between the two nations, he said.
