Islamabad hosting Iran, Pakistan traders

TEHRAN, Aug. 25 (MNA) The first post-JCPOA sitting of traders of Iran and Pakistan was held on Tuesday in Islamabad.Traders of Iran and Pakistan shared the table for the first time after the Vienna agreement of July 14, to start a two-day course of talks in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Iranian delegation is headed by Seyed Mojtaba Mousavian, Director General of Asia-Pacific of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran who is accompanied by Sadegh Ziaee Bigdeli another official of the organization.

The Pakistani side of the table is headed by Waqar Ahmed Shah who is the Director General of Trade Policy in Pakistani Ministry of Commerce.

The negotiators are to discuss the ways to broaden the trade ties between the neighboring countries in the new situation after the Vienna talks in addition to mulling over the resumption of banking channels, preferential trade agreement, and border trade between the two nations.

On Saturday, Pakistani Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan told the reporters that Tehran and Islamabad enjoy big trade capacities and economic potentials, enough to raise mutual trade to five billion dollars in coming years.

Currently, the trade volume of Iran-Pakistan is less than one billion dollars and the two states are determined to increase it to $5 billion.
