Tabriz, Feb 9, IRNA Vice-President and Head of the Department of Environment Masoumeh Ebtekar said on Tuesday that Orumiyeh Lake should survive and not reach an irreversible point.
Speaking at the University of Tabriz, Ebtekar said that revival of Orumiyeh Lake is high on the agenda of President Rouhani's government.
Referring to plans to identify the sources of dust storms, she called on the University of Tabriz to prepare feedback reports in this regard and present them to the committee in charge of fighting dust storms.
Noting that drying out of Orumiyeh Lake has caused international sensitivity, Ebrekar said that there is an international partnership for reviving the lake.
