The recent terrorist attacks in Iraq's Karrada, Bangladesh's Dhaka, Turkey's Istanbul and France's Nice prove that terrorism knows no boundaries and is a serious threat to security and stability of all countries with any religion, race and ethnicity, Larijani said in his message.

The Iranian parliament speaker condemned the terrorist attack in Nice, and cautioned that "the double-standard approach towards terrorism has led to insecurity all around the world".

Larijani extended his condolences to Bartolone, members of the Parliament and government and people of France.

He reiterated that Iran is itself victim of terrorism, and said, "Hundreds of Iranian families have been grieved with the loss of their relatives in attacks by terrorist groups like the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as the MEK, PMOI and NCR) since the victory of Islamic Revolution, the same group that we witnessed had a gathering in Paris recently."

"I do believe double standards and lack of seriousness in dealing with terrorism would result in more insecurity, violence and extremism in different parts of the world, Larijani said.

He called on the EU to adopt an active, principled, unified and clear policy on the fight against terrorism, its roots and causes of its growth.

Larijani also expressed the hope that the delayed visit of his French counterpart to Tehran, which was due on July 16, would take place soon.

A truck loaded with weapons and hand grenades plowed through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day on Thursday night. At least 90 people were killed and 120 others were injured in the terrorist attack.

A French-Tunisian terrorist killed people when he drove a heavy truck at high speed into a crowd of people who were watching the Bastille Day fireworks in Nice city late Thursday.

The attack in Nice city came eight months after the ISIL gunmen and suicide bombers hit Paris on a festive Friday evening.
