TEHRAN, Sep 18 (Shana) -- The first phase of the compounding unit of Maroon Petrochemical Plant has so far made over 80% progress and is expected to come on-stream before the end of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20, an official with the facility said.
Speaking to Shana, Mohsen Kashani, director of planning and production control of Maroun Petrochemical Plant, said the unit will come online by the end of the current calendar year with a production capacity of 60,000 tons annually.
The unit is being constructed with the aim of completing the value chain in the downstream sector of the industry in the regions and prevent the sale of raw materials, he said.
The unit's first phase is being developed with 11m and IRR12b investments.
Maroon Petrochemical Facility, located in Mahshahr PETZONE, southwestern Iran, extracts ethane from natural gas and offers it to petrochemical plants as feedstock.
