November 30, The Iran Project Farhad Nazari, head of Registration Office of Iran's Cultural Heritage announced that Nowruz MultinationalFilewas registered in the list of World Intangible Heritage in the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Speaking to a reporter on Wednesday, Farhad Nazari said with the participation of 12 countries under management of Iran, now Nowruz is among worlds largest and oldest intangible heritage.
Deputy Director of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicraft Organization Mohammad Hassan Talebianalso referred to Nowruz as an expression of wisdom, moderation and life expectancy.

During its meeting from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2, the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) examines requests nominations for inscription on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.
The Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity presently number 336 inscribed elements, includingyoga, the Cossack songs from the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, Cuba's Rumba dance and Nowruz, etc.
UNESCO's 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage has been ratified by 171 States Parties to date.
The Committee meets annually to implement the Convention and examine requests for inscription on its various lists.
