IRNA Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar in a message hailed relations between Iran and India as unique.
EAM @SushmaSwaraj [Indian Foreign Minister] welcomes Foreign Minister of #Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif in New Delhi ahead of the delegation-level talks, Raveesh Kumar wrote on his Twitter account.
Our relations with Iran are unique and historical and we attach great importance to this relationship, he added.
Zarif arrived in New Delhi on Monday morning at the head of a trade and economic delegation and held talks with his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj who announced her country will not recognize unilateral sanctions.
India was first non-JCPOA destination for Zarif after US withdrawal from the international pact on May 8.
Earlier, Zarif toured China, Russia and Brussels in a bid to win global consensus against US illegal move to opt out of the deal.
Zarif told IRNA that JCPOA-related visits to other countries will continue.
