Those who want to fix the economy need a model that has worked in at least ten countries. The next administration will get nowhere if it tries to invent a new model. Economic stability and prosperity come on the back of a successful model, the former Telecommunications Minister said in a meeting with members of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce Saturday.
The independent candidate blamed Reformist and Principlist administrations of the past for price hikes, saying the country faces inflation when a one-party administration tries to eliminate others from economic activities.
Gharazi is competing against seven rivals, namely lawmaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, former Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Velayati, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, director of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Hassan Rohani, Secretary of the Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei, former First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref, and Tehran Mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf.
The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election. This years election will be held on June 14.
Nearly 50.5 million Iranians are eligible to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
