Iran seeking joint investment in Iraq
IRNA Visiting Irans Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education Saeed Namaki said that Iran has serious plan to make joint investment in Iraqi pharmaceutical sector.

Speaking to IRNA after his negotiations with Iraqi counterpart Alaeddin Alvan, Namaki said Iran is not seeking special interest from Iraqi market , Iran aims to help solve Iraqi people's problems in supply and demand.

He added that Iran plan is to start joint investment through private sector and semi-governmental sector.

He said that the agenda of his visit to Baghdad is to make preparatory works for Iran's participation in Iraqi pharmaceutical market.

Based on the negotiations held with Iraqi counterpart, Iran is after setting a timetable for the registration of pharmaceutical items, he noted.

Namaki went on to say that Iran has 125 products in Iraq's pharmaceutical list.

Stressing the fact that 97% of Iran's drug demands are produced domestically and the useful activities of 66 medical science universities in Iran, he said Iran is ready to share its experiences in medical field and in developing health and treatment infrastructure with Iraq.

Meanwhile, Alvan referred to Iran's great success in health issues, saying cooperation with Iran will pave the way for Iraq to take advantage of Iran experiences to modify its health system.

Iran's health minister leading a delegation arrived in Baghdad at the invitation of his Iraqi counterpart.

A number of local officials and Majlis representatives are accompanying health minister.

Referring to the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed earlier between the two countries health ministries, he pointed out that the issue has nothing to with the US unilateral sanctions, as the two countries are trying to further improve bilateral relations.
