According to The Iran Project,“After the terror operation in Kerman, more than 10 terrorist teams have been identified and demolished by the intelligence agencies,” Mirahmadi told FNA on Sunday.

At least 93 people were martyred and over 280 injured by two explosions that ripped through a memorial to mark the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in his hometown early January. Iranian officials described the incident as an act of terrorism, vowing those who ordered and carried out the twin terror blasts will definitely face a fitting punishment.

On January 11, Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said 35 individuals have been captured in six provinces in connection with the recent tragedy, adding the manhunt has expanded to foreign states for the remaining elements.

The ministry on January 19 announced its forces have killed two terrorists and captured some others linked to the Daesh-claimed deadly attack in Kerman, including a bomb-making specialist and one of the leaders of Daesh-Khorasan, which is affiliated with the Daesh (aka ISIL or ISIS) Takfiri terrorist group.

It said the two terrorists were “non-Iranian nationals” and had planned a two-stage scenario involving an armed raid on one of the police stations in Kerman and setting a “booby trap” on the way of police reinforcements, both of which were thwarted.

The Ministry discovered and seized with the neutralized terrorists “two very strong homemade bombs” weighing 20 kilograms, 10 electric detonators, four non-electric detonators, one US MP4 machine gun with eight magazines and 278 cartridges, one AK-47 machine gun with five magazines and 181 cartridges, seven hand grenades, two normal and night vision cameras, two transceivers, three remote controllers, 12 meters of wire with gunpowder and electric fuses as well as significant amounts of other related equipment, the statement added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Mirahmadi stated that the Iranian forces monitor the border regions round the clock, and fight against the Western-backed terror groups.

He described the Zionist regime as “the head of the Daesh dragon”, stressing, “As long as the dragon's head is not cut off, the region will be unsafe.”
