According to The Iran Project, “It is the greatness and generosity of Dr. Pezeshkian that lead him to believe such actions should be ignored, and the government should refrain from reacting to them,” Mohajerani said in an exclusive interview with IRNA on Sunday.

Addressing recent illegal gatherings and insulting remarks against the president, Mohajerani emphasized that the issue extends beyond the individual and to the voters who elected him and the office of the presidency itself.

The spokesperson said the administration was committed to addressing these gatherings with “patience, tolerance, and consensus.”

However, she cautioned, “If the insult escalates beyond the individual and targets the nation, legal measures must be considered.” She added that judicial action is not currently on the agenda, as the government continues to urge adherence to the law and ethical behavior.

During the interview, Mohajerani also discussed Mohammad Javad Zarif’s recent meeting with the president following his resignation as vice-president for strategic affairs. She said the meeting focused on Zarif’s “potential, unique influence, and experiences.”

She pointed out that Zarif resigned to prevent harm to the president, the government, and the nation. “He is one of the figures we must value and strive to utilize to their fullest capacity.”

Zarif’s resignation came amid pressure from opposition voices, who argued that he was unfit for public office because at least one of his children holds U.S. nationality. The vice-president’s children were born in the United States during his time as a student, prior to his posting at Iran’s United Nations mission in New York.
