Fajr Intl. Music Festival underway in Tehran halls
TEHRAN, Feb. 15 (MNA) Several halls across the capital Tehran hosted a series of performances on the first day of the 29th Fajr International Music Festival on Thursday.
Different Iranian and foreign ensembles gave performances in different categories in Vahdat and Eyvan-e Shams halls, Azadi and Milad towers, Arasabaran and Niavaran cultural centers and several more, Persian media reported on Friday.

The Eyvan-e Shams Hall was honored with the Dutch quartet led by pianist Wolfert Brederode, and Vahdat Hall hosted Maziar Yunesi and his orchestra, as well as a piano and violin duet by Saman Ehteshami and Babak Shahraki.



Pop singers Reza Sadeqi and Behnam Safavi gave performances in Milad Tower that were warmly welcomed by fans.

Sounds and Silence, a film by Swiss filmmakers Peter Guyer and Norbert Wiedmer was screened in the Iranian Artists Forum in the screening film section of the festival.

In addition, the Rahavi ensemble that includes Iranian and Turkish musicians offered a performance in the Arasbaran Cultural Center on Thursday.



Led by kamancheh player Ehsan Zabihifar, the group, which includes Turkish oud player Bekir Sahin Baloglu, and classic Kamancheh player Mustafa Selcuk Erarslan accompanied by Iranian musicians, gave a surprising performance.

The provinces of Golestan, Fars, Kermanshah, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, and Kohkiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad are also hosting the event.

The festival will be running in Tehran until February 20.
