Renewable power plants with a total capacity of 13,000 megawatts are under construction in Iran, including a 780-megawatt plant being built in the southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, an official said.

The Iranian government has allowed the owners of private renewable power plants across the country to export part of their generated electricity, the head of Iran’s Power Generation and Distribution Company (known as TAVANIR) announced.

The electricity generated by Iranian renewable power plants in the ninth Iranian calendar month Azar (ended on December 21, 2023) stood at 125 million kilowatt-hours (Kwh).
