The director general of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s West Asia department has condemned the participation of the former UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran in the MKO meeting.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that reports compiled by Javaid Rehman, former UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, against the Islamic Republic have been highly political and biased, stressing that Rehman had served the MKO terrorist organization on different occasions.

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has roundly dismissed the last report by the outgoing UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the country as part of attempts by enemies to tarnish the image of the Islamic Republic.
