Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations Amir Saeid Iravani tells a Security Council session on Wednesday that any decision on future of Syria should be made by the people of the Arab country, without external interference.

The new rulers in Syria have reportedly enforced strict security measures to protect the Iranian embassy and its affiliated buildings in Damascus and other cities.

The leader of the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group, Abu Mohammad al-Jolani stated that the new Syrian administration could not cut off its relations with major countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
