Regional resistance groups have welcomed the election of Yahya al-Sinwar as the new head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas a week after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.

The support that Iran has provided for resistance groups is legitimate within the framework of international law and pursues the purpose of ending the Zionist regime’s acts of occupation and aggression in the region, Caretaker Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri said.

The meeting of the leaders of the Resistance groups was held in Tehran with the presence of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commanders.

Iran's permanent representative and ambassador to the United Nations says in a letter to the Security Council that the Islamic Republic is not responsible for the actions of any individual or group in the region.
