Rouhani merits Peace Nobel for influencing world: Analyst

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani deserves to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize due to his influence on the world, an analyst says.
William Beeman told Press TV in an interview on Wednesday that the Iranian president has managed to change the climate between Iran and the United States.
Absolutely and there is no question that President Rouhani deserves serious consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize, he said, praising the Iranian presidents posture with regard to the West.
The analysts remarks followed an opinion poll by The Guardian showing growing support for Rouhani receiving a Nobel prize.
There is no question that when you see public opinion expressed in this way, that the Western powers have to take account of the fact, that President Rouhani has made a very positive impression on the people of the world and so this has got to affect at least attitudes if not policy, said Beeman.
According to the survey, Rouhani is being lauded for his recent overture, calling for the establishment of ties with the West based on mutual respect and understanding.

In his address to the 68th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, Rouhani said the Islamic Republic of Iran poses no threat to the world and Tehran is ready for talks on its nuclear energy program with complete transparency.

The Iranian president urged his US counterpart Barack Obama to reject "the short-sighted interest of warmongering pressure groups if he wants "to manage differences" with Tehran.

In the first direct communication between an Iranian and a US president since Irans Islamic Revolution of 1979, Rouhani received a call from Obama on September 27 shortly before leaving New York, where he attended the 68th session of UN General Assembly.
