28 years ago the Iraqi army dropped chemical bombs on the town of Halabja.The civilians happened to be Kurds, Iraqi dictator Saddam Husseins enemies. He had ordered his forces to drop gas on the city, then inhabited by 45,000 Kurds.

The Halabja chemical attack also known as the Halabja Massacre or Bloody Friday, was a genocidal massacre against the Kurdish people that took place on March 16, 1988, during the closing days of the IranIraq War in the Kurdish city of Halabja in Southern Kurdistan.
