The Iran Project : Kalut is a major tourist attraction in Iran’s southeastern province of Kerman.
According to The Iran Project, Kaluts are a major part of the Lut desert, an area which has been named the hottest place on earth with temperatures in some of the Kaluts reaching 70 degrees centigrade. Kalut is a collection of hills and mountains that have been formed inside U-shaped canals in the desert. They present some unique and diverse natural attractions.
The Kalut is Shahdad is believed to have been formed some 20,000 years ago. It covers an area of 11,000 kilometers and is known among geologists as one of the hot poles of earth.
