Iran, Sudan ink cooperation MoU
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian and Sudanese officials in a meeting in Tehran signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase their cooperation in technical training and social services development.
"The two countries have a good record of cooperation, as well as lots of shared stands and interests in the international bodies, and in this meeting we had a great opportunity for further improvement of the two countries? cooperation," Iranian Labor Minister Ali Rabiyee said in a meeting with his Sudanese counterpart Ishraqa Sayeed Mahmoud on Wednesday.

Rabiyee said that the two countries? stands are very close to each other both on the Middle-East and North Africa, concluding that this calls of greater cooperation.

Mahmoud, for her part, said that the excellent relations between the two ministries are a reflection of the two countries' good ties.

"I pursued Your Excellency's addresses both in the International Labor Organization (ILO) and in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) closely. We, in Sudan, are faced with the same conditions as the Islamic Republic of Iran," she said.

In a relevant development earlier this month, Iran's Ambassador to Khartoum Shabib Jurijari and Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Karti explored avenues for enhancing all-out ties.

In the meeting, the two sides emphasized the need for the relevant officials in the two countries to utilize each and every capacity and potential to enhance cooperation.

Iran is an observing member of the African Union (AU) and has shown an active presence in previous AU summit meetings.

The country is considered as one of the AU's strategic partners along with India, Japan, China, several South American states and Turkey, while Tehran is also believed to be prioritizing promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states.
