Tehran, July 8, IRNA - The Iranian government has agreed to reduce the price of gas supplied to petrochemical plants by 24 percent, said a deputy petroleum minister.
Mansour Moazzami, deputy minister for planning and supervision on hydrocarbon resources, said the petrochemical plants will have to pay IRR 2,020 for each cubic meter of gas. The price was IRR 2,650 before the government?s new decision, SHANA reported on Tuesday.
He said the measure is aimed to boost the capital market and support domestic production.
However, the price for each cubic meter should not drop below 13 cents.
