New US assassination drone strikes have claimed the lives of at least six people in Pakistans tribal regions.
According to local security officials, two US drones fired four missiles into a compound in the village of Doga Macha Khel, located near the Datta Khel town, on Thursday.

A security official in Peshawar also confirmed the incident and the death toll.

This is while the Pakistani army has launched a major military offensive against local and foreign pro-Taliban militants. The Pakistani army began the offensive against the militant hideouts in the volatile North Waziristan tribal region on June 15.

The operations came after a raid by the pro-Taliban militants on Karachis Jinnah International Airport on June 8, in which 37 people were killed. On June 9, the militants also carried out another attack on a training center outside the airport in Karachi.

Pakistans Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) has announced that nearly 800,000 people have become displaced in North Waziristan Agency.

Pro-Taliban militants have been responsible for numerous attacks against security forces and civilians, and managed to spread their influence in various regions of the country.
