Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has sent a message to Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the ongoing crisis in Gaza and the Israeli atrocities against Palestinians, says Iran's Foreign Ministry.
The president's message to Bahrains king is about the condemnation of the Zionist regime [of Israel]s crimes against the defenseless and oppressed people of Gaza and the necessity of taking serious action to stop those crimes, Irans Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Wednesday.
Afkham said that President Rouhani has sent a message to the heads of all Islamic countries on the current developments in Gaza, urging them to take immediate action to put an end to the Israels brutalities against the Palestinians.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bahrain's official news agency BNA reported that the Bahraini king had received a written message from the Iranian president on the current political developments in Gaza and Israels massive onslaught against the Gaza Strip.
According to the report, Rouhani, in his message, urged the Islamic worlds to launch concerted efforts to support and assist the Palestinian people, particularly in the holy month of Ramadan.
Since July 8, Israeli warplanes have struck more than 1,300 targets across Gaza, which is home to around 1.8 million Palestinians. The strikes have so far claimed the lives of 227 with more than 1,600 others injured.
Despite international calls for an end to Israels bombardment of Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said recently that the Tel Aviv regime was hitting Gaza with growing force and that there was no end in sight.
