TEHRAN July 22 (Shana)--Iran has imported no gasoil since the start of the new calendar year in March, a Petroleum Ministry official said. Mohsen Mazloum Farsibaf said the reason for no gasoil imports is that power plants are being fed with natural gas.
He said that Iran would have to import more than 10 ml/d of gasoil had the administration not changed last year.
Farsibaf said Energy Ministry officials had nothing to worry about fossil fuel supply to power plants, recommending them to renovate power transmission lines. He added that optimization of power plants would also contribute to lowering fuel consumption.
