Supporter: Abu Bakr Al-Baqdadi injured in Reqqa

TEHRAN (FNA)- The leader of the Takfiri terrorist group of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) Abu Bakr Al-Baqdadi has been injured during army's operations in Syria, a Takfiri activist wrote on his Twitter account.


Al-Baqdadi was injured during the operations of the Syrian army's Division 17 in Al-Reqqa city, Twitter account-holder Al-Towhid Institute wrote on his Twitter account.

The news came as the Syrian opposition claimed that the Takfiris had taken control of Al-Reqqa, but the army denied the allegations.

Also in the past 24 hours, a member of Homs National Reconciliation Committee announced that the Syrian army and the militants are likely to extend the truce.

The news comes after a number of militant groups in Al-Va'ar of Homs tried to violate the 45-day ceasefire established between the militant groups and the Syrian army.

Meantime, the Syrian army carried out wide military operations against militants' concentration centers and hideouts in several areas around the country.

An army unit killed a big number of militants by targeting their concentration centers and destroyed vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns in Handarat, Rasem al-Abboud, al-Sheikh Lutfi, Khan al-Asal, Tal Khattab, al-Sheikh Said, al-Zarbeh, Bawabiyeh, Babansh, Haret al-Shahadiyeen, Hreitan and al-Ramousa in Aleppo.

In Daraa, an army unit destroyed a number of cars that were used by militants in Inkhel town and to the South of Khazan al-Oseileh in Daraa countryside.

Another army unit targeted a militant's concentration center on Qita crossroad in Om al-Mayaden town, killing many of them and injuring others.

In Homs, army units targeted militants' concentration centers in Kafar Laha, Wadi al-Kahef and al-Quneitrat in the rural area of the province, killing many militants and injuring others.

Also, the Syrian army took control of two important border crossings near the Lebanese border in Al-Qalamoun region.

The army units took control of border passages of Al-Hamra and Al-Massib as well as their surrounding areas.

The army's attack on Felita town in Al-Qalamoun area resulted in the death of 30 militants affiliated to the Al-Nusra Takfiri terrorist group.

The army destroyed the gathering centers of the militants and destroyed 8 trucks loaded with military equipment. The army also killed tens of terrorists in fierce clashes.

The Syrian army had also earlier made major advances near the borders with Lebanon.

The army units gained control over the strategic regions along Felita-Arsal border checkpoints.

The Syrian army regained control over Al-Massib and Al-Hamra border checkpoints which link Felita region in Syria and Arsal in Lebanon.

Arsal in Lebanon is the most important gathering center of the Salafis and Takfiris. Arsal is also regarded an important region for dispatch of relief aids and weapons to militants in the Western parts of Syria.
